My wife, Cassandre Damara Champaign Haws started studying with a JW co worker in secret just before Covid. After the covid outbreak started I mentioned wanting to go to church. She mentioned trying the JW'S. I attended a few meetings and was concerned about the levels of control I saw. I did some research and found that they are a well known cult. I raised my concerns with her but she refused to discuss them. I asked her to stop indoctrinating our children with their material but she continued to do it in secret.

She started to be extremely rude during birthdays and holidays. It got to the point where she was never present and always involved with someone or something from the JW cult. In the summer of 2022 she demanded a seperation and she told me that the elders had told her to leave me because I was an opposer. She demanded our three young children forced to attend JW meetings against their will.

In August 2022 at the direction of the women she was studying with she filed false claims of abuse and had me removed from my home and seperated from my children. I fought her false allegations in court and was found not guilty and I was awarded shared legal custody and partial physical custody. She filed for divorce based on our religious differences in early 2023. The JW congregation gave their blessing for her divorce filing despite their public stance opposing divorce. I am currently fighting for full custody to keep the kids away from this harmful cult and to give them a normal childhood
